Position Summary:

  • Responsible for the College's accounting functions such as advanced monthly and annual financial processes, accuracy of the general ledger, and managing the financial reports.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinates and finalizes daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes, and prepares detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepares comprehensive presentations on financial data for the Vice President of Financial Affairs to present to the College's leadership and other relevant entities.
  • Assists various departments in formulating their annual budgets, analyze financial data and suggest budget adjustments.
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of monthly journal entries to the general and statistical ledgers.
  • Coordinates and finalizes College’s audit and working papers and provides guidance for the College Foundation audit.
  • Tracks and maintains compliance records for state capital projects.
  • Tracks fixed assets, completes bank reconciliations, and various financial processes.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, with a background in government and nonprofit accounting principles and practices being preferred.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (as applicable):

  • CPA certification preferred.
