Position Summary:
The Workforce Training Sales Specialist is responsible for promoting and selling workforce training programs and other educational services offered by the College. The role centers on driving revenue growth through client engagement, strategic sales initiatives, and partnerships with community and business stakeholders. This position requires expertise in workforce training trends, strong sales skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external clients to meet departmental goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Key Responsibilities:
  • Actively promote and sell workforce training programs and educational services.
  • Negotiate final pricing with clients to achieve departmental revenue goals.
  • Consistently meet or exceed financial targets, including operating margins and gross revenues.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with HR professionals, industry managers, and community leaders.
  • Develop strategies to attract and retain clients for workforce and community education training programs.
  • Provide high-quality customer service and follow-up to ensure client satisfaction.
  • Conduct market research to understand industry trends and workforce needs.
  • Identify opportunities for new training programs and tailor offerings to client requirements.
  • Partner with internal teams to refine and deliver training solutions.
  • Collaborate on special projects, grants, and new product development with the Kern Center staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities, client interactions, and program outcomes.
  • Adhere to departmental policies, budgets, and operational procedures.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required:
  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrate equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree, showcasing skills and expertise directly related to the position.
  • Exceptional sales acumen with five or more years of proven success in sales roles.
  • Strong organizational, problem solving, communication, and leadership skills.
Preferred:
  • Master’s degree in Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Experience in higher education or workforce training.
