Position Summary:
  • Oversees the College's comprehensive accounting functions such as advanced monthly and annual financial processes, accuracy of the general ledger, offer strategic insights for budgetary decisions, and manage the financial reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Coordinates and finalizes daily, monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial processes, and prepares detailed financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Prepares comprehensive presentations on financial data for the Vice President of Financial Affairs to present to the College's leadership and other relevant entities.
  • Assists various departments in formulating their annual budgets, analyze financial data and suggest budget adjustments.
  • Ensures the integrity and accuracy of monthly journal entries to the general and statistical ledgers.
  • Coordinates and finalize College audit and working papers and provide guidance for the foundation audit.
  • Tracks and maintain compliance records for state capital projects.
  • Oversees and track fixed assets, complete bank recs, and oversee various financial processing tasks.
  • Functions as Fiscal Officer in the Vice President of Financial Affair's absence.
  • Fosters a strong organizational culture, leading and building an effective, cohesive team that supports the College's goals and values.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements.
  • Performs duties as assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience:
 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required; Master’s degree and CPA preferred.
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 3-4 years in a leadership capacity.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, standards, and regulations, with a background in government and nonprofit accounting principles and practices being preferred.
  • Knowledge of Banner Software necessary.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations (as applicable):
 
  • CPA certification preferred.
