Position Summary:
  • Responsible for providing support and guidance to students as they transition from high school to college or the workforce.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:
  • Provide individual and group advising to students on academic and career planning.
  • Works with students to develop their academic and career goals, identify resources, and support services, and navigate the college or workforce application process.
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations on college and career readiness.
  • Work with students to identify and apply for financial aid.
  • Coordinate with other campus departments and community agencies to provide support services to students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress
  • Report on program effectiveness to stakeholders
Education and/or Work Experience:
  • Required
    • Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field, 2+ years of experience working with students in a college or career readiness setting.
  • Preferred
    • Master's degree in education, counseling, social work, or a related field.
Other Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with diverse populations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of working with students from disadvantaged backgrounds
  • Experience working with students with disabilities.
  • Experience working with students from diverse cultural backgrounds
  • Training in trauma-informed practices.
